What is a generative user interface?
The generative user interface takes the concept of generative AI and appears on how we interact with data or system. Like generative AI, it allows data interactive and available in natural language or creates new images or sound in prompt, so the generative user interface creates interactive content on how the data is displayed, depending on what you are asking. The aim is to supply the content that the user wants, but also in a format that also uses this data for users.
For example, what do you really do in searching for information? It depends on what you know and how accurate your search terms are. Traditional search uses keywords that are useful when you know the exact goal but do not require. Do you know exactly what you want to find, or are you looking for general examples or the whole category? It is different between searching for the exact name of the brand and the product, such as “Nike Air Max 90s” or for general properties such as “red training shoe”. In entertainment, it would be different between searching for a particular film name and searching for a genre or actor.
When searching with less specific terms, the return of the list of items or responses to the chat itself may not be useful. Instead, you may want to offer more pictures or other forms of the display. Understanding how the user searches, you can change how the results appear, and add adequate values such as images or videos. In an example of a movie or new shoes, you can link to the sources of film trailers or other video content, which gives the user more information to get better.
